Here are some pictures, the first of many that I've taken in the last 2 months!
Getting off the plane in africa! We're all a bit dishevelled...
At the reptile and croc farm with a snake around my neck:
Gambian children love to get their picture taken. They love digital cameras, because you can look at the picture after you take it. Here are some random children, picture taken when i first arrived in training village.
That's all for now!
Wow, I love that snake necklace. You look great! The Gambian children look wonderful. Am telling people to look at your blog. We all want to see your pictures and read about what you are doing. Thought about you on the day of your language test. Will be thinking of you on your swearing in day. Had a great b-day! Went to the Stock Show and saw Pro Rodeo and Mexican Rodeo. Found a horse to buy, but it is horse or a visit to Gambia. Well, Gambia won. Love and Blessings Mom
ReplyDeleteHey, it's Dad! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to the new official Peace Corps person!!! That is WAY great! Mom and I are thinking of you pretty much all the time now as you get sworn in and begin your official service. We are proud of you and want you to know you are loved as much as can be. If you read this before you leave to go up country, let everyone know the village/region name you are assigned to. We look forward to hearing of your adventures in service whenever you get the opportunity to write. As always, keep your faith strong and know that we send our love and prayers to you constantly. Love, Dad.
ReplyDeleteAshley, it's me still. We're all fine and will have a swearing in party for you this weekend. Unfortunately, you won't be able to be here so we'll write via snail mail and tell you all about it. We invited Barack and he said he would come except he had other plans this weekend through next Tuesday. We have snow on the ground here - remember it's that white stuff that happens when it gets cold...!! That won't dampen our swearing in party though! We are happy for you and know you will exceed all expectations, even your own. We are sending all our love and prayers to you. Love, Dad.
